TOP 7 MODERN INTERIOR DESIGN TRENDS TO WATCH FOR 2019

Posted by Dane Rimko on

Top 2019 Interior Design Trends: Whats on the Horizon? With 2018 in our rearview, it's time to look forward into not so distant horizon to see what the most popular trends for 2019 interior design will be. You will see these popping up in homes, restaurants and magazines this year. We scoured the interweb and compiled everything for you here; blog posts, social media posts and articles from the top interior designers. So what did we find? Well honestly, it's a bit eclectic this year and there is no overarching commonality between the design trends for 2019. We saw lots of forward thinking focus on natural materials manipulated in unexpected ways; a melange of sorts where things like geometry and opposting materials are combined with surprisingly cohesive results   Pantone 15-1546 Living Coral, Color of the Year.   One dimensional, everything all in one design style, is out.   Bespoke + artisanal lighting fixtures.   Brass Decor   Geometric Patterns   70’s Chic   You will see this trend creeping into design forward pieces in 2019. This solid Walnut credenza with intricate repeating textures engraved directly into the doors by Cleveland based MODERNCRE8VE is a great example of this.   Expect to see more of this paint color in homes and incorporated into home decor this year. For years Pantone has been defining color trends, and this year is no exception. From Pantone "In reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life, we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy. Sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity".     Terrazzo, the 80’s era formica-esque pattern normally reserved for floor tile, has been trending over the past few seasons on everything from subway tile to restaurant interiors. It was only a matter of time that it would appear as a one of our main interior design trend predictions 2019 withstanding. Playful, abstract, and totally radical, Terrazzo is great for a home with eclectic or mid-century modern interiors as it works perfectly with the mood of both. Plus, since its background is usually based around a neutral, it will help any room appear larger and more open.   Handcrafted authenticity Look to see more focus on put on handmade and smaller furniture companies via platforms like ETSY that are able to deliver much higher quality at increasingly more competitive prices. We see a movement away from overpriced sweatshop made mass produced furniture made in China ala companies like Design Within Reach, West Elm. Pieces like this minimalist walnut and steel plate coffee table from maker Bricker and Beam Tropical Foliage Wallpapers The latest wallpaper trend taking the interior design world by storm are bold tropical prints and botanicals with a retro twist."Bringing the outside in to your home has been a growing trend for many seasons. With the added wellness benefit of having plants surround you we are seeing more and more foliage creep into interiors," says Paula Taylor, Graham & Brown wallpaper trends expert and stylist. Brass Accents Polished Brass has been popular for several years, so were not surprised it's on our list of top interior design trends for 2019. We like seeing brass used in moderation to punch up bathroom decor or living rooms by adding visual and textural interest and to otherwise mundane objects. This dining table by MODERNCRE8VE harnesses the perfect balance of glam and elegance, with brass being incorporated into the end caps and into the table in a random geometric pattern that begs for a closer look.

We've moved our workshop. It's so hard to say goodbye (kind of...)

Posted by Robert William on

Nov 21 2015 marks the day when we moved out of our former shop within the Tyler village complex and into the new space across the street, also owned by the Greystone Group. We didn't necessarily want to move, but it got to the point where we ran out of space, and the floor we were on (3rd) took a different direction tenant wise. In retrospect, it may have been for the better since we outgrew our previous space probably a year and a half ago and have been climbing over each other for awhile now in very cramped quarters....

AllModern + Wayfair added as a Vendor!

Posted by Robert William on

We are proud to announce that we have partnered online retailed Allmodern, and parent company Wayfair to sell our products. We were approached by them at the end of last year and have quietly been building stock levels over the past few months to prepare for product launch on their online sales channels. A huge thanks to our in-house wholesale manager Andi, who worked very closely with the Wayfair team to get our products prepared for launch.
